The veteran is an action comedy between a seasoned detective, Seo Do-Cheol, against a young heir to arrogant Chaebol, Jo Tae-Oh, who is involved in various criminal activities. The film is filled with rapidly evolving action scenes, but what distinguishes it is his humor and the intelligent way that he manages social comments on the corruption of the rich. The representation of the relentless detective is fantastic, the representation of the implacable detective is fantastic, bringing both intensity and humor to the role. The body -to -hand combat and hunting scenes are energetic and keep the audience engaged. What makes the veteran particularly pleasant is the tension between SEO and OJ. While referencing represents justice and grain, Jo embodies the authorized and untouchable elite who believes he can get away with anything. The film subtly criticizes the imbalance of power in society while being an exciting ride filled with a great combat choreography. The action and the moral message combine to make it one of the Korean action films of the decade.
