Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and based on a story by George R.R. Martin, the film tells the story of a queen who, desperate to fulfill her love, makes a bold decision: she sends the powerful and fearsome witch Grey Alys (Mila Jovovich) to the haunted wastelands of the Lost Lands in search of magical power. The witch and her guide, the vagabond Boyce (Dave Bautista), must outwit and defeat both humans and demons.
